Last Week Reflection

Last week, we had so much fun. Last week, we had our first breakout session. Breakout is when we need to find clues to open boxes. The breakout was all related to Dr. Seuss. There were some quotes from him and some secret messages hidden on them. We used a bioluminescent flashlight to help us. Our whole table used teamwork to open the boxes. We were really happy when we finished our session.

Next, we started drafting our personal narratives. We also got writing partners.  We spent a lot of time writing.

For independent reading, I read 2 realistic fiction books. One called Scat and the other called Hoot. They are both by the same author, Carl Hiaasen. The books are about people living in Florida where he lives. He also loves the nature in Florida too. Scat is about a teacher going missing on a class field trip. While Hoot is about a pancake-house that is going to be built, and the kids are trying to stop them for a reason which would spoil the story.

That's what been happening this week.

The First 2 Weeks of School

Here are some things I did in the first few weeks of school. I did a silhouette project and a poem.
Here is the poem:

I Am Poem
By Robbie

I am from spicy mango salad with peanuts and red hot chillies,
chicken satay with delicious peanut sauce and vegetables
and tandoori chicken with yoghurt and butter naan.

I am from Hobbiton, where all the the hobbits live,
the arena where the Hunger Games begin
and Hogwarts where wizards and witches study.

I am from vibrant, tall palm trees swaying in the wind,
colorful architecture with dark and bright colors
and tall skyscrapers with gray and black windows.

I am from tall rainforest trees with bright colored flowers,
the Singapore Flyer turning its wheel
and a busy stadium with bright lights on all night.

I am from “play your piano,”
“Clean your room,”
and “try again.”

I am from fingers clicking the Xbox,
the pop sound of the tennis ball whipped by my racket
and the big smiles when playing with friends.

I am from a humid and sunny island,
where the lights never go out
and where the buildings tower the sky,
Singapore.
