V&P CU 2 Blog Post Reflection

I did well at explaining the problems and graphing, but something I can improve on is labeling my graphs better. I need to add titles and label the independent and the dependent variables so that people don't get confused.

V&P CU1 Blog Post Reflection

I can show that I can plot graphs and describe them. I need to improve on labeling with my quadrant graph because you can't tell which point is which.

Personal Finance Project

What is interest?
Interest is a percentage that the bank pays when you deposit money in your bank account annually. The more you invest in the bank, the more interest you earn over time.

What are the benefits of investing in an account that earns interest rather than sticking it in a box under the bed?
When sticking your money under you bed, your money stays the same. But with interest, you can increase how much money you get over time according to how much you invest. In the end, it adds up to a lot of money.
Let's use $1200 as a base number. If you keep it under your bed, you will just have the same amount of money. Now, let's have 5% interest. You put your $1200 inside you bank account with interest. 5% of 1200 is 60. You have 1260 dollars as your total.

If you do not withdraw your money, each year you earn more saving than the year before. Why?
Because the next year's interest adds on to not only the principal amount, but with the added interest amount. Each year, it will get bigger and bigger.

Science Sensory Experiment

Question: Will peoples’ reaction times change with dizziness?
Materials: Markers, timer, test subject

Procedure:

  1. Put test subject’s name in data table, in the name column
  2. Spin person 8 times (bending down), make them dizzy
  3. Hold 2 markers, throw 1, see if they catch it. Have another person start the timer when the person throws the marker and stop it when the test subject either touches it or it lands on the floor.
  4. Put reaction time (the time on the timer) in data table, in the dizzy column
  5. Wait until they aren’t dizzy
  6. Hold 2 markers, throw 1, see if they catch it. Have another person start the timer when the person throws the marker and stop it when they either touch it or it lands on the floor.
